Job summary

Ambarella is seeking a Microcode Summer Intern to design, implement, and test advanced imaging and video algorithms across our DSP-driven SoCs. You will collaborate with leading researchers to optimize hardware resource use while contributing to cameras for automotive and security markets.

The role emphasizes C/C++, some assembly, scripting (Perl/Python), and NN framework familiarity, with a strong focus on communication, teamwork, and modern software practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, computer engineering, CS or equivalent.
• Current master's students in one of these disciplines are preferred.
• Strong experience with C or C++ and some assembly.
• Scripting experience with Perl or Python.
• Understanding of modern computer architecture and data synchronization.
• Familiarity with image processing and video compression standards.
• Familiarity with NN frameworks (TensorFlow, Caffe, PyTorch).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and test advanced imaging and video algorithms.
• Develop microcode within the DSP architecture for camera markets.
• Review research papers and implement DSP ideas.
• Develop test codes for hardware blocks.
