Job summary

Bracco Medical Technologies is seeking a Firmware Engineering Co-op in Eden Prairie, MN. You will work on embedded systems, writing and debugging firmware in C/C++, and developing scripts in Python while collaborating with hardware and software teams.

The role offers hands-on experience across the full embedded development lifecycle, including testing on real boards, debugging, and using AI-assisted code generation tools, with a Spring/Summer 2027 start and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
• Proficiency with C/C++ and working knowledge of Python
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers or embedded systems is preferred

Responsibilities

• Write and debug firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller-based systems
• Implement and troubleshoot interfaces such as I2C, SPI, and UART
• Use JTAG emulators and debugging tools to resolve hardware/firmware issues
• Develop Python scripts to support test automation, data collection, and validation
• Use AI tools to generate code and test scripts
• Support data processing and analysis from test data and sensor data
• Prototype and validate designs using development boards (e.g., Arduino)
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to bring designs to prototypes
• Document code, tests, and results clearly for the team
