Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test firmware for power generation systems in Roanoke, on-site. The role requires a BS in CS or STEM and 2 years of C++/OOP experience. Relocation assistance is provided, and a discretionary annual bonus is offered.

On-site work and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential. The position includes competitive pay ($80k–$120k) and comprehensive benefits, with opportunities to grow in embedded platforms

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
2 years of C++ or OOP programming experience through school or work.

Responsibilities

Architects, designs and/or programs/develops a small module or a large component, feature, set of feature, whole feature area or entire embedded software product.
Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy; may include support roles.
Understands business drivers and how work integrates with other teams.
May have autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework and resolves issues with established procedures.
Leads a junior team and interfaces with customers as required.
