Brain Corp, based in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer I to develop safe, reliable firmware for robotic systems. You will work closely with hardware to integrate software across MCUs and peripherals, and participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards.

The role offers hands-on impact on real-time robotic systems, with opportunities to contribute to build systems and CI/CD pipelines, and to document complex integrated solutions for the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or EE or related field.
• 0–2 years embedded software experience.
• Strong C/C++ and Python coding skills.
• Experience with ARM Cortex MCUs and embedded RTOS.

Responsibilities

• Write, bug-fix, and maintain embedded software in C/C++ and Python to support core robotic functionality.
• Collaborate with hardware team to integrate software with MCUs and peripherals (CAN, I2C, SPI).
• Participate in code reviews and use GitHub for source control and standards compliance.
• Contribute to build systems (CMake/Make) and support CI/CD pipelines for firmware releases.
• Maintain technical documentation for integrated systems and features.
• Other duties as assigned.
