Job summary

AWS is seeking a firmware-focused engineer in Cupertino to design and implement firmware for SSD/NAND-based storage devices powering Nitro SSD. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability across AWS data centers.

Key responsibilities include firmware design from conception through production, device benchmarking, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Deep understanding of SSD hardware architecture and related concepts.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including testing and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design SSD firmware and hardware integration for AWS Nitro SSD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate design.
• Lead firmware development efforts for NAND-based storage devices.
• Contribute to device characterization and benchmarking.
• Work with AWS software engineers to tailor devices for AWS environment.
