Job summary

Altera seeks a BootROM & Firmware Engineer to research, design, develop, and optimize firmware for FPGA configuration and security features. You will write firmware specs, implement in C/C++, test extensively, and validate flows using emulation and FPGA silicon.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in CS/CE/Engineering science or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of C/C++ programming experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++, assembly, and debugging tools.
  • Experience with functional safety and crypto concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review product and hardware specifications and write firmware design specifications.
  • Use C and C++ to implement configuration and security features of FPGA devices.
  • Write unit and system tests to validate firmware features.
  • Collaborate with hardware and validation engineers on complex system-level issues.
