Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is hiring entry level Firmware Engineers to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be a member of an Integrated Program Team (IPT)) creating complex firmware solutions implemented in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), System on Chip (SOC), and Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLDs). Development activities may also include laboratory integration, test and evaluation, fault isolation of prototype hardware, and system qualification testing support. This role is onsite, in Largo, Florida.

What You Will Do:

As an entry level Firmware Engineer 2 at Collins Aerospace, you will…..

  • You will generate firmware requirements based on the system architecture.
  • You will generate firmware documentation that describes the firmware architecture.
  • You will design HDL based digital circuits that are structured and readable.
  • You will build test benches to verify/test the HDL based design.
  • You will generate constraints for target device.
  • You will create scripts to automate build, integration, and test activities.
  • You will verify target device functionality in laboratory environment.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree obtained prior to start.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in embedded processors and SoC development for FPGA devices
  • Experience in FPGA design implementation with VHDL design language
  • Experience in the following Simulation Tools: Mentor Graphics, Synopsys, or Cadence
  • Experience in the following Development Tools: AMD (Xilinx), Intel (Altera), Lattice, or Microsemi (Actel) FPGA.
  • Experience in TCL, Perl, or Python for Scripting and in FPGA Development with Linux Operating System.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
