Job summary

Nexr in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Mid-Senior Firmware Engineer to join our engineering team, focusing on Embedded C++ development for STM32-based products used in commercial equipment.

You will collaborate with hardware, electronics, controls, testing and product development teams to bring up boards, implement firmware, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to architecture and reliability of connected devices.

Qualifications

• Strong Embedded C++ experience with STM32 MCUs.
• Experience reading schematics and collaborating with hardware teams.
• Familiarity with Modbus, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART.
• Embedded firmware development for commercial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop Embedded C++ firmware for STM32 microcontroller-based products
• Support new product development and existing product improvements
• Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up, testing, and debugging
• Develop and maintain firmware for connected commercial equipment
• Troubleshoot firmware and hardware-level issues across embedded systems
• Work with communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART
• Support product validation, integration, and manufacturing-related engineering activities
• Contribute to firmware architecture, documentation, and ongoing product reliability improvements

This role focuses on Embedded C++ development for STM32-based products, working closely with hardware, electronics, controls, testing, and product development teams.

What You Will Work On

• Experience with Modbus, CAN, Ethernet, or similar protocols would be desirable
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership in a small team environment
