Job summary

Intezra, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Developer / Reverse Engineer to join a small, mission-focused team in Columbia, MD. You will work close to the metal, developing firmware and performing reverse engineering across architectures with strong C skills.

This hands-on role requires TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph. You will analyze firmware, design new capabilities, and collaborate with experts to shape the capability roadmap in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• Level 2: 5+ years with a Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years with a Master's degree.
• Level 3: 10+ years with a Bachelor's degree, OR 8+ years with a Master's degree.
• At least 3 years of cybersecurity-related software development experience.
• Degree must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new firmware-level capabilities and extend existing ones.
• Perform analysis and reverse engineering of firmware and embedded components across multiple architectures.
• Write production‑grade C code targeting constrained and embedded environments.
• Investigate device and firmware behavior, document findings, and turn them into actionable engineering work.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, fellow developers, and end users on requirements, prototypes, and refinements.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and design discussions.

Skills Requirements

• Strong proficiency in C programming.
• Reverse engineering experience across diverse architectures (e.g., ARM, MIPS, x86).
• Comfort working in Linux-based development environments.
• Familiarity with low‑level debugging, embedded toolchains, and platform internals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with vulnerability research.
• Experience analyzing or developing firmware in a production context.
• Familiarity with firmware extraction and analysis (e.g., binwalk, Ghidra, IDA Pro, radare2).
• Experience with exploit development.
• Experience with C++, Rust, or Go for embedded or systems work.
• Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence) and Git/GitLab workflows.

Compensation & Employment Policy

Salary is determined by multiple factors, including location, education, experience, skills, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,100 – $225,200 (annualized USD).
