Job summary

Etched is building cutting-edge hardware for frontier intelligence, co-designing chips, racks, software, and manufacturing. This role owns the accelerator software enabling inference on our custom hardware, spanning ASIC software, platform firmware, and host-side kernel/driver development.

You will work across three areas: ASIC software, platform firmware, and host-side kernel and drivers, contributing across areas as the team grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong C/C++ and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience building and debugging low-level software that interacts directly with hardware.
• Depth in firmware, embedded systems, device runtimes, operating systems, or kernel/driver development.
• Experience shipping software on real hardware into production.
• Familiarity with ARM, PCIe, DMA, HBM, DRAM, Ethernet, UART, RTOS, or FPGA systems.
• Strong systems intuition around performance, concurrency, memory, reliability, and fault handling.

Responsibilities

• Own accelerator software from power-on through inference execution.
• Coordinate across ASIC, platform firmware, and host kernel/driver layers.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize latency and throughput.
