Qualifications

• This is an entry level position; however prior experience may be preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and customers.

Responsibilities

• Act as Fire Watch, Hole Watch or Bottle Watch.
• Watch out for fire hazards in the workplace.
• Maintain conditions and requirements stated on the safety permit.
• Keep flammable materials from ignition sources.
• In emergencies, follow safety permit protocol and alert others.
• Call 911 or emergency services as needed.
• Stop operations if hazardous conditions are found (Stop Work Authority).
• Maintain communication with supervision at all times.
• Be prepared to operate fire extinguishers and related equipment.
• Remain on site while work continues.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action.
