Job summary

Conceras, LLC is seeking a Firewall Operations Engineer to support a Department of State program focused on perimeter security. The role involves Tier 2 monitoring, configuration, and ongoing maintenance for firewalls, proxies, and related devices across global operations.

The position is hybrid, located in Beltsville, MD or Springfield, VA, with on-site days and a Tue-Sat schedule. Training lasts ~6-8 weeks; on-site presence is required for most shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years of experience or equivalent.
• In-depth experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama to troubleshoot and configure firewall infrastructure.
• 3-5 years IT customer support (Tier I/II).
• Experience with Firewall/DMZ infra, including Packet Filtering techs (Palo Alto, Palo Alto cloud FW, FortiGate, Azure FW, Cloudflare, ESA, A10).
• CLI experience preferred; familiarity with NeuralStar and TCP/IP troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 support for perimeter devices (firewalls, proxies, ESA, load balancers).
• Monitor ServiceNow incidents/requests for FWOPS.
