Firewall Administrator & InfoSec Engineer Sr

Description: The Corporate Information Security (CIS) organization at Lockheed Martin (LM) protects company assets and systems from cyber threats by developing and implementing a robust security posture, enforcing policies and standards, and providing security awareness training to employees.

Within LM CIS, the Boundary Transformation and Secure Transport team is hiring a mid-career Firewall Administrator / InfoSec Engineer.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Designing, implementing, and managing firewall rules, policies, and configurations to ensure network security and compliance.
  • Monitoring and analyzing firewall logs to identify potential security threats and troubleshoot issues.
  • Performing regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure firewall configurations are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
  • Collaborating with network and security teams to ensure seamless integration of firewalls with other network devices and systems.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation of firewall configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Providing technical support and training to junior team members and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging threats, technologies, and industry trends to continuously improve firewall security and performance.
  • Providing security engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of Information Assurance and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering.
  • Assessing and mitigating system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Validating system security requirements definition and analysis.
  • Establishing system security designs.
  • Implementing security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures.
  • Verifying security requirements.
  • Performing system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities.
  • Supporting secure systems operations and maintenance.

Who You Are:

Ideally, you have experience managing and administering firewalls (particularly with Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls) in an enterprise-level networking environment and enterprise network administration. You also possess a strong understanding of network security, protocols, and architectures, along with experience with cloud technologies and programming languages. Previous experience in routing, firewalls, or SD-WAN, and a solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure and complex network solutions, are desirable.
