Job summary

The Hayes Company is hiring a Fireplace Installer / Service Technician to install and service gas, direct-vent, wood-burning, and electric fireplaces throughout the Kansas City area.

We offer full-time, year-round work with a salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 plus benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, HSA, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and training opportunities. You will work on both new construction and existing homes and travel to various job sites.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Comfortable working from ladders, roofs, and elevated work areas.
• Previous experience safely working at heights.
• Ability to lift and maneuver 50+ pounds and work as part of a team when handling heavier fireplace units.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to communicate clearly with teammates, managers, builders, and customers.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Installing gas, direct-vent, wood-burning, and electric fireplaces.
• Loading and unloading fireplaces, tools, and materials.
• Installing fireplace units and venting systems according to manufacturer specifications.
• Installing venting through roofs when required.
• Completing fireplace start-up and light-up.
• Troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing existing fireplaces.
• Communicating job-site conditions or issues to managers and sales team members.
• Keeping your company vehicle, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
• Traveling to job sites throughout the Kansas City area.
• Following company and job-site safety procedures.
