Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) seeks an Aviation Specialist to lead the Helicopter Modules across assigned Districts. This mid-level supervisory role directs aviation programs, coordinates with district staff, and serves as the SME for aviation services, ensuring alignment with policies and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Directs DFPC fire aviation programs within the assigned District(s).
• Acts as the State's SME for aviation programs, services, and functions within the assigned geographic area for DFPC staff and external partners.
• Interprets policies and regulations related to fire aviation management and communicates changes to internal and external stakeholders.
• Determines resources, staffing, and equipment needs based on preparedness levels and develops utilization plans.
• Represents DFPC and partner agencies on committees and boards concerning aviation management and coordinates with District staff to meet staffing needs.
