Job summary

Rural Metro in Yuma, AZ seeks a Firefighter-Paramedic to deliver high-quality service and provide both basic and advanced patient care on calls. Paramedics assess situations, provide care, and determine actions per established protocols.

The role includes responding to emergencies, performing fire suppression duties, completing EMS tasks, and coordinating with medical staff and other agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Firefighter II and Hazardous Materials-Operations certifications required.
• State-issued or National Registered EMT-Paramedic certification.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime availability as needed, including emergency assignments.
• Must meet local standards for qualifications, training, and eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency fire alarms and performs fire suppression duties.
• Assists in controlling fires using appropriate extinguishing agents.
• Operates fire equipment and performs search and rescue, ventilation, and salvage operations.
• Provides detailed written reports of firefighting and rescue actions.
• Responds to emergency medical calls, performing assessments and providing emergency and non-emergency care
• Transfers patients to medical facilities and adheres to EMS protocols
