Job summary

The City of Bloomington is seeking a firefighter paramedic to extinguish fires, perform rescues, render medical aid, and respond to hazardous materials incidents and other emergencies. You will assist with fire and life safety education for the community and aid fire inspectors and investigators as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass required background, medical, psychological, and fitness exams.
• Read/write English and communicate effectively.
• High school graduation or GED equivalence.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Currently a firefighter paramedic with at least one year of experience.
• Paramedic certification, Firefighter 1 & 2, Hazardous Materials Operations Level.
• Fire Apparatus Operator within one year of hire.
• MN State Firefighter License Eligible.
