City of Pleasanton invites applications for Firefighter-Paramedic with the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. This role performs advanced medical care, firefighting, and rescue operations across a dynamic public-safety environment, responding to fires, EMS incidents, hazmat calls, and public assistance.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
• National Registry EMT-P Certification or California Paramedic License with current certifications.
• Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License or CDL and Medical Examiner's Card.
• Firefighter I and Firefighter II Certifications or IFSAC/Pro Board.
• Lateral entry requires 24 months of fire suppression as a full-time, paid member of a fire agency.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazmat incidents, and other emergencies as part of a company.
• Drive and operate apparatus and specialized equipment safely during operations.
• Conduct daily inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on firefighting equipment.
• Participate in ongoing training, drills, and professional development.
• Accurately complete medical reports, equipment inspections, and maintenance records.
• Engage in fire prevention activities, public education, and safety inspections.
