Job summary

City of Benbrook TX seeks a firefighter/paramedic to respond to fire alarms, EMS calls and other emergencies. The role includes fire suppression, rescue, hose line operations, ventilation, salvage, and hazardous materials response as part of routine duties.

Worker will administer first aid/EMS, inspect equipment and quarters, and participate in fire training and drills. Certifications in Fire and EMS are required and full‑time schedule includes 48/96 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Texas Class B Driver's License is required.
• Active Paramedic certification and Basic Firefighter Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire alarms, EMS calls, and other emergencies.
• Performs fire suppression, rescue, hose operations, ventilation, and salvage tasks.
• Administers first aid and EMS to injured persons.
• Inspects and maintains apparatus, equipment, and facilities.
• Conducts fire code enforcement inspections and pre-fire planning.
• Maintains current certification in Fire and EMS disciplines.
