South Adams County Fire Department (SACFD) is seeking qualified applicants for Firefighter IV (Academy/Entry Level). The role includes firefighting, emergency medical services, and adherence to district SOPs, with a 12-month probation period from date of hire. Annual salary listed is $83,862.21.

Applicants must meet health and certification requirements and successfully complete the district academy post-hire. The position reports to the assigned Shift Officer in Operations.

Qualifications

• Must pass FPAT and METs as part of the selection process.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must possess and maintain CPR certification.
• Must have EMT-B certification by date of hire.
• Knowledge of first aid and related EMT techniques.
• Must successfully complete the District’s Firefighter Academy within the specified schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide firefighting, rescue, and EMT-Basic life support at emergency scenes.
• Assist in removal of victims from hazardous situations.
• Operate and maintain apparatus, vehicles, and equipment according to SOPs and district policies.
• Respond to alarms and deliver water streams, ladder operations, and use of firefighting tools.
• Participate in training classes and prevention activities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with District employees and community.
