Job summary

The role supports the Fire Marshal in plan reviews, inspections, and investigations as needed, and requires MFSCB certifications in Firefighter I, Hazmat Ops, and Firefighter II, along with Minnesota residency and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid, unrestricted Minnesota driver’s license.
• Minnesota State Certification of Firefighter I, Hazmat Ops, and Firefighter II by the MFSCB.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for fire, medical, rescue, or other service.
• Conduct fire and life safety inspections on rental properties and commercial buildings in Chaska.
• Assist with review of plans and inspections to ensure fire code compliance and city ordinances.
• Provide fire safety education and participate in community programs.
• Maintain certifications through required trainings and continuing education.
