Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Georgia Class C Driver’s License at appointment; Georgia Class F license within 12 months.
• Firefighter I and ICS certifications must be obtained within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate fire trucks, pumpers, hoses, and extinguishers during fire suppression and rescue operations.
• Test and maintain fire detection and suppression equipment.
• Inspect and prepare fire pre-plans for buildings, grounds, and facilities.
• Maintain fire station buildings, facilities and apparatus.
• Respond to alarms, medical calls, traffic accidents, rescues and other emergencies.
• Participate in training, drills and independent study.
• Conduct fire safety education classes.
• Perform staff support assignments.
