Job summary

The City of Missouri City invites applications for a full-time firefighter position with the Missouri City Fire & Rescue Services (MCFRS). The role protects life and property by responding to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and other incidents, while performing public education and risk reduction activities.

Under the supervision of a Fire Lieutenant and Battalion Chief, the firefighter will maintain stations, apparatus, and equipment, participate in training, and support department

Qualifications

• Fire suppression, rescue, EMS support, and scene accountability as per department procedures.
• Knowledge of policies, laws, and operating guidelines for emergency response.
• Ability to communicate clearly, document accurately, and manage incident reports and records.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous conditions using approved procedures.
• Provide emergency medical care per certifications and guidelines; assist with patient movement and documentation.
• Operate tools and vehicles safely in accordance with policy and training.
• Complete incident reports and EMS records accurately and timely.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, PPE, SCBA, hoses, and stations; perform minor maintenance.
• Participate in public education and community risk reduction activities.
• Attend training and development activities; assist with company-level training.
• Maintain fitness and comply with policies and chain of command.
• Subject to 24-hour recall.
