Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Must meet and maintain the requirements for career Firefighter II and EMT under Florida Statutes.
• Successful completion of Fire/EMS Trainee Guide and Task Book required.
• Additional training/certifications in advanced firefighting desired.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire alarms, EMS needs, and emergencies and forwards information to authorities.
• Performs basic firefighting operations (hose, rescue) to combat fires.
• Provides basic life support and patient assessment per training level.
• Maintains station, equipment cleaning, decontamination, and minor repairs.
• Participates in drills to meet NFPA standards and maintains EMT certification.
