Doña Ana County is seeking Firefighter EMTs to perform firefighting and emergency medical duties in the Fire Rescue division. The position requires written tests and physical agility, with a compensation range listed for EMT Basic/Intermediate and Paramedic levels and a hiring incentive for Paramedic applicants.

Primary duties include fire suppression, patient care, equipment maintenance, and participation in technical rescues.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Volunteer or paid firefighter preferred but not required; bilingual favored.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license; must obtain NM Fire Academy, ICS 100, 200, 700, 800; Fire Certifications including IFSAC/ProBoard Firefighter I/II and HazMat A/O; EV driver; Vehicle extrication; NM EMS license (EMT-Basic) within six months.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and perform fire suppression duties.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency medical care.
• Perform general maintenance of department property and equipment.
• Participate in technical rescues (high angle, water, trench, confined space).
• Attend training and maintain certifications.
