Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/ALS Opportunities

The Louisa County Department of Fire and EMS is now accepting applications for certified Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/ALS provider opportunities. LCFEMS is only accepting applications from fully-certified and trained Firefighter/EMS providers at this time. Please check back for future recruit school opportunities.

Minimum requirements include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have completed Commonwealth of Virginia or ProBoard Firefighter I & II; Hazardous Materials Operations; EVOC (Class III); and Virginia EMT, AEMT, Intermediate, or Paramedic (or National Registry with the ability to obtain reciprocity before the start date).
• Must possess a valid Virginia Motor Vehicle Operators License.

In order to be considered, candidates must submit a completed application to the County of Louisa Human Resources Department at [e-mail]. Resumes alone may not be considered. Selected candidates must complete a written exam, physical ability testing, and a formal interview process.

Salary Information:

• Firefighter / Paramedic starting at $66,000 (base); $71,604 with FLSA
• Firefighter / Intermediate starting at $64,000 (base); $69,435 with FLSA
• Firefighter / AEMT starting at $62,000 (base); $67,265 with FLSA
• Firefighter / EMT starting at $56,000 (base); $60,755 with FLSA

Salaries may increase based on experience and advanced certifications!
