Job summary

Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue is seeking certified Firefighter/EMT professionals to respond to fires and medical emergencies and work with a team of career and volunteer staff. Candidates must hold Firefighter I and EMT certifications or obtain them before employment and complete the CPAT prior to field deployment.

The position includes duties such as apparatus operation, patient care, and regulatory reporting, with pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.

Qualifications

• Must hold or obtain Firefighter I and EMT certifications prior to employment.
• Individuals must complete the modified CPAT prior to being released into the field.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms of fires, hazardous material incidents, medical and other emergencies with staff.
• Maintain records and files and prepare reports.
• Examine patients, provide care, drive and operate fire/medical apparatus, assist in emergency management activities.
