Job summary

The City of Healdsburg invites qualified firefighters to join the Healdsburg Fire Department. Firefighters perform suppression, prevention, provide EMS, and operate equipment to protect life and property in the Healdsburg community.

This 56-hour per week vacancy offers competitive hourly wages ($32.55–$39.72) and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, CalPERS retirement, generous paid time off, and special pay for bilingual and certifications.

Qualifications

• Two years of responsible firefighting, fire prevention, medical and/or emergency response experience.
• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License may be required; Firefighter I certificate or equivalent is preferred.
• EMT certification or ability to obtain EMT certification is required or desired.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls; perform fire suppression and prevention activities.
• Respond to medical emergency calls and assist paramedics.
• Perform rescue operations including rope, water, and vehicle extrication.
• Operate firefighting apparatus, tools, and equipment; maintain equipment and facilities.
• Participate in training and develop positive working relationships with the team and public.
