Great Oaks Career Campuses in Ohio is seeking a Firefighter/EMS Instructor for the Scarlet Oaks Secondary Program. You will follow the curriculum, supervise the program, monitor tests, coordinate meetings, and work with partners to recruit qualified instructors.

Requirements include 5+ years in firefighting/EMS, Ohio Firefighter I & II, EMT-level provider certification (Paramedic preferred), Live Fire and ODPS instructor credentials, and eligibility for the DOE career-technical license.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of firefighting/EMS experience in a related role.
• Must hold Ohio Firefighter I & II certification in good standing.
• EMS provider certification at EMT level or higher is required.
• Instructor certifications (ODPS) including Live Fire are required.
• EMT-B instructor credentials are preferred.
• Eligible for Ohio DOE career-technical education license.
• Maintain required certificates per Ohio rules and codes.

Responsibilities

• Follow prescribed curriculum with approved instructional materials.
• Collaborate with instructors on program supervision plans.
• Monitor tests and testing policies; ensure compliance.
• Coordinate meetings to support program expansion and improvement.
• Engage with community partners to recruit qualified instructors.
• Design meaningful instruction aligned to goals and student needs.
• Maintain classroom environment and high expectations for learning.
• Plan budgets and manage daily operations for the program.

Education

5+ years Firefighting/EMS experience

Ohio Firefighter Certificate (I & II)

Ohio EMS provider (EMT or higher)

Instructor Certification (ODPS Fire & EMS)

Live Fire Instructor Certification

EMT-B Instructor certification
