Job Description

General Functions: This role involves protecting life and property through emergency and non-emergency services, working under the supervision of a Lieutenant with considerable independence and discretion.

Representative Duties:

• Perform fire suppression and rescue operations.
• Provide emergency medical services at EMT or Paramedic level.
• Rescue victims from hazardous environments and vehicular entrapments.
• Conduct salvage, clean-up, and safety inspections.
• Maintain physical fitness and participate in training.
• Engage in public relations and community safety activities.
• Operate emergency vehicles and perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Florida State Firefighter certification.
• Current EMT or Paramedic certification.
• Must complete all certification requirements within three years of hire if not already certified as a Paramedic.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.
• At least 18 years old.
• Non-tobacco user for at least one year.
• Meet background, medical, and physical standards.

• Firefighter/EMT (2+ years): $48,692.80
• Firefighter/Paramedic: $47,257.60 + $9,752.80 Incentive
• Firefighter/Paramedic (2+ years): $50,169 + $9,752.80 Incentive
