Job Overview

The Firearms Specialist is the in-store expert responsible for firearms and ammunition sales. The role involves connecting with customers, assessing their needs, recommending products, and encouraging sales.

Job Duties
  1. Educate customers on firearm functionality and parts.
  2. Teach safe firearm handling and usage.
  3. Communicate neutrally and professionally with customers.
  4. Complete all necessary local, state, and federal paperwork for firearm sales.
  5. Assist with product selection and ordering.
  6. Operate Point of Sale and DNR licensing systems.
  7. Understand sporting goods electronics, such as GPS units and fish locators.
  8. Build planograms and manage retail floor flow to meet customer needs.
  9. Receive merchandise and understand return policies.
  10. Ensure compliance with all laws to protect the store’s FFL and handle firearms safely.
  11. Promote customer loyalty programs and company initiatives.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be 18 or older, pass background checks, and comply with all firearm laws and regulations.
  • 1-2 years of firearm sales or related experience preferred.
