Live. Work. Explore. We are hiring Fire Systems Technicians as a part of our Engineering and Maintenance team in Yellowstone National Park!

Are you enthusiastic about hospitality, people, and beautiful places? By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As a Fire Systems Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly.

Job Summary:

This role primarily involves assisting with the inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler, alarm, and security systems. The role includes supporting the Fire Alarm Tech in system installations and collaborating with various departments and personnel to coordinate fire system activities. Additionally, the position involves helping with the logistics of recycling used batteries.

The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: June 2025 - October/November 2025
Pay: $20.50- $23.45/hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with performing inspections, testing, and repair of fire sprinkler, alarm, and burglar systems
  • Assists the Fire Alarm Technicianwith installation and maintenance of security systems
  • Assists with coordinating fire systems activities with the facility and project department, National Park Service, Location Management and Maintenance Personnel
  • Assists with receiving, storing and shipping used batteries for recycling

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of general repair and maintenance operations
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently at all levels
  • Must be at least 21 years old andhave valid driver’s license; good driving record required
  • This position requires a DOT Physical

Physical Requirements Include:

  • May require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations
  • Capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Possess the physical stamina to withstand heavy, labor-related work in an outside environment, including standing, bending, kneeling and crawling for extended period of time
  • Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions
