Job description

Available Immediately- Questar III BOCES announces vacancies for part-time (20 hrs per week) Fire Systems Laborer positions based out of our 1070 Rte 9 location in Schodack, NY. These positions will work with a Questar III Fire Systems Specialist to inspect and service all classes of fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems; schedule inspections; complete related inspection and service reports in a timely and accurate manner; and provide customer service excellence to our clients. Additional duties may include assisting in maintaining, cleaning, and testing of fire alarm systems. Qualified candidates must be self-directed, have the ability to work unsupervised, possess mechanical skills, troubleshooting abilities and have excellent communication skills. Candidates must have reliable transportation. Willingness to travel and the ability to work 2nd shift hours are required. The hourly rate is $20/hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent, valid NYS driver’s license, basic computer skills, experience with various hand tools, and the ability to lift fifty pounds. Preferred candidates will have knowledge and/or experience in maintaining portable fire extinguishers.

Hourly pay for this position is $20 per hour.
