Job summary

Koorsen Fire & Security Inc. in Merrillville, IN is seeking a Fire Systems Inspector to join our on-site team. This full-time role inspects and tests fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure proper operation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test Fire Alarm & Sprinkler systems and components for proper functionality.
• Inspect and test systems and document any deficiencies.
• Ensure customers understand the system’s functionality.
• Interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally.
• Follow safety regulations and practices.

Salary Up to $19-35/hour depending upon experience

Responsibilities

• The inspection and test of Fire Alarm & Sprinkler systems and their components to ensure proper functionality.
• Inspect and test Fire Alarm/Sprinkler systems and document any deficiencies.
• Ensure customers understand the functionality of their system.

Required

• 1 year of low voltage experience OR fire protection industry experience
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.

Preferred

• Fire Life Safety, Low Voltage, Security experience.
• Proficiency working in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Basic understanding of IT functionality

Physical Demands

• Able to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools.
• Lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs. Push and pull more significantly than 75 lbs.
• To perform services, climb a ladder to a height of at least 12 feet, use a man lift, and reach heights exceeding 40 feet.
• Exposure to outside weather conditions, temperature changes, and loud noises
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
