Job summary

KBR is seeking a Fire Systems Engineer (Contingency) to design, implement, test, and maintain fire protection and life safety systems for diverse facilities. You will ensure compliance with NFPA codes and client requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams and regulatory bodies.

This contingent role depends on contract award. The ideal candidate has a degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field and 3+ years of experience with fire protection design, NFPA standards, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years designing, maintaining, or managing fire protection and life safety systems.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards (NFPA 13, 20, 25, 72, 101).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop fire alarm, sprinkler, detection, and life safety systems per codes.
  • Prepare calculations, specifications, drawings, and layouts for facilities.
  • Review construction documents for NFPA and local code compliance.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs.
  • Support commissioning, testing, inspection, and acceptance of fire protection systems.
  • Maintain project documentation and compliance records.
