Job summary

Thompson Safety in Houston, TX is seeking a Fire Inspector/Technician responsible for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of fire protection systems. You will inspect, test, and perform system checks, and prepare accurate inspection reports.

Responsibilities include completing detailed reports, responding to emergency calls on an on-call schedule, and communicating with customers professionally while maintaining company equipment and safety protocols.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Certifications/licensing on specific fire protection systems preferred.
Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of codes/regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently or in a team.
Flexibility to work evenings/weekends and on-call shifts; valid driver’s license and background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine preventative maintenance, service, repairs and inspections on fire protection systems.
Complete detailed inspection reports and document issues accurately and timely.
Respond to emergency calls and participate in on-call schedule.
Interact with customers professionally and preserve company equipment.
Maintain safety by using PPE and operating company vehicles responsibly.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
