Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, service, test, and maintain suppression systems, including extinguishers and kitchen hoods. Strong communication with customers and employees is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, test, and maintain fire suppression systems (including extinguishers and kitchen hoods).
• Perform basic to standard repairs of extinguishers, cylinders, and DOT cylinders.
• Create detailed commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA.
• Maintain vehicle inventory and keep facilities safe and orderly.
• Identify opportunities to upsell inspections at new sites and equipment upgrades.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, service, test, and maintain suppression systems, including but not limited to fire extinguisher and kitchen hoods. Customer and employee interface require a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written are important elements of the position.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)

• Inspect, service, test, and maintain fire suppression systems, including fire extinguishers and kitchen hoods.
• Complete basic to standard level complexity repair of fire extinguishers, systems cylinders, and DOT-specified cylinders.
• Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.
• Responsible for vehicle inventory.
• Ensure facility and inventory is kept in a safe and orderly state.
• Proficient in issue resolution.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of fire protection industry and products.
• Work with customer(s) to perform deficiency repairs.
• Identify opportunities to perform inspections at new customer sites.
• Identify opportunities to upgrade current equipment according to code requirements.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
