Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, service, test, and maintain fire suppression systems, including extinguishers and kitchen hoods. Strong customer and employee relations are essential.

You will perform repairs, document commissioning and inspections per NFPA, manage the vehicle inventory, and pursue opportunities to service new sites while adhering to OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of experience in a technician role within the fire suppression environment.
• Able to pass a background check, drug screen, and driving record screening.
• Physically capable of performing the essential functions of a Fire Suppression Technician, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, test, and maintain fire suppression systems, including fire extinguishers and kitchen hoods.
• Complete basic to standard level complexity repair of fire extinguishers, systems cylinders, and DOT-specified cylinders.
• Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.
• Responsible for vehicle inventory.
• Ensure facility and inventory is kept in a safe and orderly state.
• Proficient in issue resolution.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of fire protection industry and products.
• Work with customer(s) to perform deficiency repairs.
• Identify opportunities to perform inspections at new customer sites.
• Identify opportunities to upgrade current equipment according to code requirements.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
