Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a skilled Field Service Technician to perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites.

You will troubleshoot and install equipment from several manufacturers, read blueprints and manuals, and manage daily service calls. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on experience, an extinguisher license, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot and install system products for multiple manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and product manuals.
• Manage daily service calls, customer activity and program system products.
• Work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.

What you will do

Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems in addition to other related building system products at customer sites. Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs,schematics,and operational product manuals. Manage daily service call, customer activity and program system products. You will work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.

How you will do it

• Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participation in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Performs inspections of Suppression Gas Systems based on contract requirements.
• Inspect customer systems
• Use of Smart Phone and Equipment
• May include government work

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25-40 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
