Job summary

Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing, part of the Installed Building Products family, is seeking a dedicated fire-stopping installer to join our team in Tempe, AZ. This role focuses on on-site installation, safety, and collaboration with supervision.

You will read blueprints, perform basic trade math, maintain documentation for code compliance, and participate in ongoing training to grow with IBP's growing portfolio.

Qualifications

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure and read measurements off a blueprint.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork on a construction site.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand safety on the job site.
• Coordinate the installation process at the job site (unload equipment, place the hose in the installation location).
• Use basic trade math to assist the supervisor with costs.
• Inspect firewalls per NFPA code and ensure code compliance.
• Provide accurate documentation for customers' code compliance.
• Maintain professional, timely communication with customers.
• Learn blueprinting, sketching, perspectives, and terminology.
• Understand the relationship between cost, blueprinting reading, and material estimating.
