Job summary

BrandSafway is seeking a Fire Stopping Estimator to generate new business, prepare accurate cost estimates, and support sales operations by delivering high-quality proposals for access, scaffolding, and related solutions. The role combines technical estimating with active business development, customer engagement, and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Fire Stopping estimating experience in commercial/industrial construction.
• Proficiency with estimating software and take-off processes.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with customers and GC partners.
• Ability to review drawings and develop accurate cost estimates.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Actively sell and prospect end-user business to support branch sales goals.
• Generate leads, understand requirements, and promote BrandSafway solutions.
• Present proposals, address questions, and negotiate terms to secure business.
• Review blueprints, perform take-offs, prepare cost estimates, and develop proposals.
• Coordinate with engineering and branch teams to ensure quality proposals and execution.
• Manage bid logs, forecasts, proposal documentation, and reporting.
• Complete billing, timecards, change orders, and other admin tasks.

The Fire Stopping Estimator is responsible for generating new business, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting sales operations by delivering high-quality proposals for access, scaffolding, and related solutions.This role combines technical estimating skills with active business development, customer engagement, and project coordination.The ideal candidate is an individual who is proactive, customer-focused, and able to provide both technical expertise and strong sales support while collaborating with operations, engineering, and branch teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively sell and prospect end‑user business to support branch sales goals
• Generate sales leads and engage potential and existing customers to understand requirements and promote BrandSafway solutions
• Present proposals to customers, address questions, and negotiate terms to secure business
• Support the development of branch/area sales plans and assist with major project presentations
• Review blueprints, perform take‑offs, prepare cost estimates, and develop comprehensive proposals that meet customer requirements
• Estimate projects using engineering knowledge and collaborate with BrandSafway Engineering when necessary
• Revise estimates as needed, coordinate pricing with subcontractors, and ensure bid formats meet company standards

Customer & Project Support

• Communicate with customers, project managers, and superintendents regarding design changes, value engineering, scheduling, and budget matters
• Conduct field job walks with customers and support project teams during pre‑ and post‑bid processes
• Provide technical support, product training, and reinforce safe-use practices of BrandSafway equipment
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration
• Coordinate with branch operations, engineering, and sales teams to ensure quality proposals and project execution
• Support equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to resolve product performance issues
• Administrative Responsibilities
• Manage bid logs, forecasts, proposal documentation, and reporting
• Complete billing, timecards, change orders, and other required administrative tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of Fire Stopping estimating experience, ideally in commercial or industrial construction.
• Proficiency in estimating software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to analyze project documents, develop accurate estimates and plan work effectively
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of scaffolding, insulation, and access systems is a plus.
• Strong communication skills (communicating with general contractors and other customers)
• Works independently with minimal supervision; expected to exercise strong judgment using multiple sources of information
• Occasional site visits required, including walking, climbing, or lifting up to 50 lbs depending on project needs
• Approximately 10% overnight travel.
