Job summary

PNE - Philly Fire in Broomall, PA is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Technician to install, test, inspect, service, and repair fire sprinkler systems. You will respond to emergencies, complete service reports, and troubleshoot components to restore systems to normal condition.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with NFPA codes, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. A sign-on bonus is offered and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred.
  • Willing to support training for entry-level candidates; mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of fire sprinkler systems: installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 13, 25, 14, 20 and local fire codes.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Driver's license and ability to pass drug/background checks.
  • Backflow license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency situations during and after business hours to resolve safety concerns.
  • Perform annual, semi-annual, and quarterly inspections of Life Safety Systems.
  • Write inspection/service reports and note deficiencies or corrections.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on fire sprinkler systems and take appropriate actions.
  • Perform system upgrades, modifications, expansions.
  • Collaborate with customers, contractors, and team members for installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and inventory.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers on system operation and maintenance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, regulations, and advancements.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines for self and others.
  • Performs other related duties.

Fire Sprinkler Technician

Full Time PNE - Philly Fire, Broomall, PA, US

Salary Range: $25.00 To $40.00 Hourly

Job Summary :

The Fire Sprinkler Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, inspection, service, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. Respond to emergency and maintenance calls and troubleshoot/replace faulty components to restore fire sprinkler systems to "normal condition ". Complete inspection and service reports. ***SIGN-ON BONUS***

Essential Job Functions :
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after business hours to resolve safety concerns.
  • Perform Annual, Semi-annual, and Quarterly inspections of Life Safety Systems.
  • Write and provide inspection/service reports on tested equipment and devices. Indicate any deficiencies or corrections that need to be made.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults or malfunctions on fire sprinkler systems and take appropriate actions .
  • Perform system upgrades, modifications, and expansions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with customers, contractors, and other team members to ensure efficient and effective installation, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, inspection reports, and equipment inventory.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding fire sprinkler systems, including system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, regulations, and technological advancements related to fire sprinkler systems.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and practices, both for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned .
Experience & Qualifications :
  • High School Diploma or GED required . Additional technical certifications or training in fire sprinkler systems is strongly preferred.
  • Willing to support training/development for entry-level candidates. Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Solid Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair is preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards, such as NFPA 13, 25, 14, 20 and local fire codes is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, and technical manuals is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Backflow Preventer License - preferred.
  • Maintain a v alid driver's license and ability to pass a drug and background check.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and have full use of hands. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to wor k from a ladder, and in some case, a man-lift.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel daily.
