Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Systems Technician 4 in Rancho Cordova, CA. You will install fire protection piping and related components for commercial/industrial sites, service wet/dry/pre-action systems and fire pumps, and read complex blueprints to ensure precise installations.

Candidate should have 3–5 years in the field, a clean driving record, and the ability to work alternative shifts or weekends. NICET certification is a plus and a skilled-trade education is preferred.

• Working knowledge of wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, and fire pump.

Responsibilities

• Perform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial applications.
• Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/pre-action systems, fire pumps, and backflows, including inspections.
• Read complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
• Carry/move equipment up to 60 pounds and work from ladders or scaffolding.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and use required safety equipment.

What You Will Do

Perform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial application.

Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements.

Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

What You Will Do

Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/ pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows, including repair and internal inspections of systems.

Follow verbal and written instructions, read, and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.

Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.

Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required including bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, face mask and safety toed boots.

Properly secure all Johnson Controls Fire Protection tools and equipment at the end of each work period to prevent damage or loss.

Have computer/phone skills - Word, Excel, Outlook and iPhone apps and functions

Complete and submit time reports and other documents as required.

Bring to the immediate attention of the dispatcher/supervisor of all changes, discrepancies and coordination problems that impair activities or schedules.

Occasional working alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer service on call requirements is required.

Perform other duties as directed.

What we look for

Preferred

Sprinkler and Backflow license a plus or must be obtained.

NICET certification is a plus.

Completion of an accredited skilled-trade education program.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29.95 - $41.20 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
