Job Description

State Fire stands as a leading provider in the fire protection industry, delivering top-tier expertise in the installation and servicing of critical safety systems. Our offerings include fire alarms, kitchen fire suppression systems, security solutions, and more, ensuring the protection of our clients' assets and personnel.

We are currently seeking a full-time Fire Sprinkler Service Technician based in Salt Lake City, UT. Ideal candidates will have experience with fire sprinkler systems and hold Utah Level I and II licenses.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Service wet, dry, and antifreeze systems.
  2. Inspect sprinkler heads, pipes, valves, alarms, and other components for proper function and signs of wear or damage.
  3. Troubleshoot wet, dry, and antifreeze systems.
  4. Test water flow, pressure, and alarm functionality to verify system effectiveness.
  5. Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning sprinkler heads, lubricating moving parts, and replacing damaged components.
  6. Repair or replace faulty parts to maintain system integrity.
  7. Regional travel and overnight stays may be required.

Requirements include:

  1. At least 3 years of experience in Fire Sprinkler/Life Safety trades (required).
  2. Utah Level I and II licenses.
  3. Backflow knowledge.
  4. High School diploma or equivalent.
  5. Knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA regulations, and MSHA requirements.
  6. Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems.
  7. Basic computer and software skills.
  8. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  9. Clear criminal background check.
  10. Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
  11. Effective communication skills in English.
  12. Flexibility to work varied hours and be on-call as needed.

Physical requirements include the ability to:

  1. Sit, stand, kneel, crouch, or stoop for extended periods.
  2. Operate a motor vehicle.
  3. Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
  4. Navigate confined spaces and difficult access areas.
  5. Lift, transport, and position objects up to 70 pounds safely.
  6. Work indoors and outdoors.
