Job summary

Century Fire Protection is seeking a skilled fire sprinkler service technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sprinkler systems in Elberton, GA. You will work with wet, dry, pre-action and deluge configurations, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, ability to read drawings and specifications, and a strong mechanical aptitude. NICET certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 3+ years fire sprinkler service or installation experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and fire sprinkler systems.
• Ability to read and interpret system drawings and specifications; mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge).
• Diagnose system issues and identify required repairs.
• Conduct system testing, flushing, and functional checks.
• Document service activities and corrective actions.
• Communicate system status with customers and internal teams.
• Coordinate with inspectors, project managers, and other technicians.
• Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Support emergency and on-call service requests.

Summary

Responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fire sprinkler systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company quality and safety requirements.

• Diagnose system issues and identify required repairs or corrective actions.
• Conduct system testing, flushing, and functional checks.
• Document service activities, deficiencies, and corrective actions accurately.
• Communicate system status and service needs with customers and internal teams.
• Coordinate with inspectors, project managers, and other technicians as needed.
• Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Support emergency and on-call service requests as required.

Education and/or Experience

High school and 3+ years of fire sprinkler service or installation experience; strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and NFPA standards; ability to read and interpret system drawings and specifications; mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; NICET certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills, email.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, crouching/bending, climbing ladders, and working at heights; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; exposure to varying weather conditions, mechanical systems, and active facilities; overtime and on-call rotation may be required
