Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Wilmington, NC, seeks a Sr Sprinkler Service Technician with the experience to perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. The role requires strong technical competence, applicable licenses, and the ability to work independently while guiding junior technicians.

You will ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on every job, complete documentation promptly, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level II or above preferred; firefighter or equivalent certifications are considered.
• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, service procedures, and applicable codes.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently service, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Document service reports accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Guide and support entry-level technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Travel to job sites as required.

The Sprinkler Service Sr Technician is responsible for independently performing service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This position demonstrates strong technical competency, holds applicable licenses, and is capable of completing jobs independently. The Senior Technician may guide or support entry-level employees and contributes to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Guide and support entry-level technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Qualifications
