Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead fire and life safety system projects from planning through commissioning. You will coordinate field teams, manage budgets, ensure code compliance, and maintain strong customer interfaces.

The role requires 2–5 years in construction PM, knowledge of OSHA standards, and the ability to read blueprints and project specs. NICET is preferred; we value strong communication and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Two to five years of experience as a project manager within the construction industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable code requirements.
  • Customer-centric approach, proficient in project management, and adept at leading and managing teams.
  • Ability to estimate and propose change orders on projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret system designs on blueprints as well as project specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • NICET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project phases, coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring specifications are followed and work proceeds on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure the project is on budget, identify overruns, and implement mitigating actions.
  • Assist in estimate development; confirm scope of work and contract requirements before start date.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with customers, contractors, and project partners for completion.
  • Review design drawings for conformance with regulations, project specs, and standards.
  • Assist Operations Manager in updating manpower planning for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with finance to review and gain customer approval of billings.
  • Develop lessons learned based on project data.
  • Provide monthly updates to project budgets and cost-to-completes.
  • Participate in pre-bid reviews and turnover meetings to clarify scope and contract requirements.
  • Manage project financials including job costs and billing to achieve gross margins.
  • Ensure PPE compliance as required by project and scope.
  • Comply with safety programs and Sciens procedures.

Job description

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions seeks an experienced Project Manager (PM) responsible for the execution of fire and life safety system projects in accordance with project budgets, code compliance, and managing the field operations team’s work quality and work output. This position will work closely with our sales team, installation team, and clients to ensure a sound design, seamless installation, and professional commissioning of our projects. The PM is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of planning and executing projects. Customer interface and management of staff requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important aspects of the PM position.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
