This position is responsible for configuring, installing, fitting, and maintaining various piping systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of those systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems using various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
- Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; create working procedures based on specifications.
- Gather equipment and materials for the job.
- Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.
- Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, brackets systems, or clamps; cut or bore holes prior to installation.
- Install insulation and pipe coverings; safely remove and discard old coverings following hazardous waste procedures and EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Inspect pipes, test for pressure and leaks; report and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with management to schedule maintenance, repairs, and installation, minimizing operational disruption.
- Comply with safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection details.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training is highly desired.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Proficiency with tools such as blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and stretching to install and repair pipes and fittings.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.
