Jet Industries Inc. is a nationwide, family-owned contractor seeking an Apprentice to support the Fire sprinkler division in installing piping systems and accessories under supervision. You will read blueprints, stage tools, and assist fitters and foremen to ensure quality and safety on each project.

As an entry-level role, it emphasizes learning NFPA sprinkler codes, precise workmanship, and teamwork. Ideal candidates are 18+, reliable, and eager to develop skills in a supportive, values-driven

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Safe work habits.
• Ability to stay organized.
• Reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of tools.
• High level of precision workmanship.
• Willingness to learn about fire sprinkler systems and fire sprinkler codes.
• Strong eye for detail.
• Understand blueprints, stock lists, and inventory.
• Must be highly organized, systematic, and adherent to construction deadlines.
• Steel experience, including cutting, threading, and grooving black steel pipe
• CPVC experience, including cutting, reaming, welding, and hanging CPVC pipe.
• Basic Proficiency in English required.

Responsibilities

• Layout product for installation, stage tools, and execute basic piping installation jobs
• Read and understand fire sprinkler blueprints
• Employ safety measures while installing a fire safety system
• Perform tasks; measuring, marking, cutting, threading pipe for installation
• Connect fittings and sprinkler heads to pipe, then test the system to ensure there are no leaks
• Keep abreast with the latest developments in fire sprinklers, NFPA fire sprinkler codes
• Document all details of work

Job Summary

The Apprentice supports the division in the Fire safety in buildings is one of their most important security and safety measures. A fire sprinkler fitter installs the piping system and accessories such as hangers, pipe, sprinklers, seismic restraints, and valves to complete the fire sprinkler system. The apprentice assists the fitter or foreman.

• Basic Proficiency in English required. Candidates must have a basic understanding of English for safety purposes and to effectively communicate with colleagues, vendors, and contractors on-site. The ability to follow instructions and engage with the team is essential for success in this role.
