Job summary

Fire Safety and Protection in the United States is seeking a Sprinkler Inspector to inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in buildings to ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire codes and standards. They will work with building owners, facility managers, and fire departments to ensure systems function properly and people and property are protected.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, NICET certification (or equivalent training), strong communication

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in fire sprinkler systems and inspection.
• NICET certification may be required or considered.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting and testing fire sprinkler systems in accordance with local, state, and national codes and standards.
• Identifying deficiencies and recommending repairs or upgrades to bring the system up to code.
• Providing reports and documentation of inspection results to building owners and fire departments.
• Collaborating with technicians to ensure repairs and upgrades are completed timely and cost-effectively.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations including water pressure, valve operation, and sprinkler head coverage.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspection results and maintenance activities.
• Providing training on fire sprinkler systems and emergency procedures.
• Investigating false alarms and developing strategies to reduce them.
• Keeping up-to-date with changes in fire codes and standards.
